How to: Use Sound Recorder to change compression settings.
Solution:
Open 'Sound Recorder' and open the appropriate .wav file. Select the 'File' menu and select 'Save As...'. Click 'Change...' and select the appropriate compression setting from the 'Format' drop-down list.
1) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
2) Select 'Programs' and select 'Accessories'.
3) Select 'Multimedia' and select 'Sound Recorder'. (The 'Sound - Sound Recorder' window appears.)
4) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Open...'. (The 'Open' dialog box appears.)
5) In the 'Look in' drop-down list box, select the folder where the sound file is located.
6) Select the sound file and click 'Open'.

7) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Save As...'. (The 'Save As' dialog box appears.)
8) Click 'Change...'. (The 'Sound Selection' dialog box appears.)

NOTE: If a different filename should be used for the file, type the filename in the 'File name' box and click 'Change...'.
9) In the 'Format' drop-down list, select the appropriate audio format.

10) In the 'Attributes' drop-down list, select the appropriate compression format.

11) Click 'OK' to close the 'Sound Selection' dialog box.
12) Click 'Save' to save the new compression setting.
